BIRDS OF A FEATHER THAT NEVER FLOCKED TOGETHER

There's this saying about "something at first sight." What's that saying again oo? Well, I seem to have forgotten. However, I may just have witnessed the "first sight" experience, but not exactly how you know it to be. It’s more like a "connection on first encounter" sort of thing. I bet you haven't heard of such phrase anywhere before. Lol. Don't worry. There's always a first time.

Okay! Let me now take you on a brief exciting ride about "birds of a feather that never flocked together." You may relate to it. Read on!

Jenifer is this spirited melancholic character with a huge sanguine flare which makes her more of a "ball of fire" behind the scenes; a personality much loved and admired by phlegmatic Michael who doubles as a melancholy and choleric secondarily. The duo prefers an indoor groove to even the most talked about outdoor event. But then, their secondary extroverted tendencies never failed to lead them on - every once in a while.

Michael's seeming timidity wouldn't let him connect easily with folks from the outside world. He was too reserved to respond to even an innocent “hi” from the likes of lousy Clara and clingy Sandra. The dude was okay alone with his weird imaginations. And of cause, his imaginary friends were there to give him all the company in the world. What more could he ask for? He had it all! On the flip side, Jennifer's perfectionism made the rest of mankind to appear lazy and unworthy of her, hence her inevitable self-imposed solitude. What a character!!!

But neither Michael nor Jenifer could give an account of how their paths crossed to the point where the fences that shielded them from the rest of the world got demolished, giving room for an unusual connection which drew them to each other and produced what could best be described as "extreme fondness" of each other. How in the world did those unsociable beings get there?

Michael was somewhat lazy for crying out loud! But Jenifer suddenly grew blind and wouldn't see. And believe me, Jenifer was one hell of a clingy girl! Yet her clingy attitude became a thing of great pleasure to Michael. Hmmm. Wonders shall never end! And people will never be tired of seeing wonders!

At long last, these two entities found themselves someone they could relate with unreservedly, someone they could share their darkest secrets with, someone they could get naughty with - without fear of castigations, someone they could simply call "a friend indeed!" But their sweet little union was fast truncated by a mysterious "third party factor" which saw them journeying in opposite directions reluctantly along the line.

You see; Michael is my friend. So he tells me everything. And as you know, I'm your friend; so I’ll tell you everything. Now, here's what Michael said to me on a final note;

"I've never seen a girl like Jenifer. She has a beautiful soul. A meek spirit. And she's gently troublesome. Even her lies are sweet and tender. I wouldn't ask for a better female friend. It's a sad thing we had to part ways. I wonder when I'll see her kind again. I earnestly look forward to that day."

No matter how hard I pressed on him, Mike wouldn't elaborate on the reason he and Jenifer parted ways except telling me it was due to a "mysterious third party factor." I wonder what that even means. So, I perused his story and could only come up with one conclusion;

They say it takes two to tangle. There were two of them, but they never tangled. I've heard about the mingling of singles. These were singles, but they never mingled. However, their paranormal connection upon their first encounter secured them brief but memorable exciting moments that can only be told as a tale.

Their case can be likened to that of enslaved Israelites who finally left Egypt after 400 years of slavery without making it to the Promised Land. And like that of Moses beholding the Promised Land with his eyes without entering into it. Judging from their temperaments and personalities, the term; “birds of a feather” suits them perfectly. It’s quite ironic that they never “flocked together.”

What went wrong? I don’t know. Mike sure knows. But he just wouldn’t say. Or perhaps, birds of a feather do not flock together in all cases, the strength of their “connection on first encounter” notwithstanding. Wait a minute; was this just a “connection on first encounter” thing? Or was it more of that saying about “something at first sight?” I’m out!!!
